Careers
We are always looking for talent.
Who we are
Adaptive Sensory Technology was founded by a team of Harvard Medical School scientists, digital photography entrepreneurs, and Google employees. Our motto is "smarter testing for better health" and we are building a platform for intelligent medical devices and data analytics with a focus on ophthalmological solutions.
Our first product already has received regulatory approval and is in use in clinical trials by major pharma companies in North America and Europe. We are now poised to grow our portfolio of digital solutions to transform ophthalmological care.
What we are looking for
Clinical Programmer (f/m/d)
for our German office in Munich.
What You’ll Do
As a Clinical Programmer, you will be the backbone of our data delivery pipeline. You will ensure that the valuable data captured by the Manifold Vision Meter is seamlessly, accurately, and compliantly structured for our global pharma partners.
Specifically, you will:
- Collaborate on Data Specs: Partner directly with pharma data management teams to write, implement, and refine Data Transfer Agreements (DTAs) and file format specifications.
- Standardize Clinical Data: Own the mapping, transformation, and validation of our device data into submission-ready CDISC/SDTM formats.
- Evolve Our Tech Stack: Help us transition our current data pipelines into a modern, service-oriented architecture that scales. You will design and implement web/REST-style services to support a growing base of internal and external users.
- Build Internal Workflows: Apply Python software engineering principles to design, maintain, and automate our in-house data processing pipelines, making our workflows more efficient and repeatable.
- Advance Interoperability: Help us bridge the gap between medical devices and modern healthcare systems by working on interoperability standards, specifically HL7 and FHIR.
Who you are
You are a detail-oriented programmer who finds satisfaction in clean data architectures, robust pipelines, and reliable code. You understand that in clinical trials, data integrity is just as important as the code that generates it. You enjoy working in a small, collaborative team where you can see the direct impact of your engineering choices.
Our ideal candidate brings:
- Python Expertise: Strong, professional Python programming skills, with a solid grasp of software engineering best practices (version control, clean/modular code design, and testing).
- Clinical Data Experience: A strong background working with clinical trial data, with practical knowledge of CDISC/SDTM standards and the data management lifecycle.
- Web & Service Concepts: Familiarity with, or a strong interest in, building and consuming RESTful APIs and moving data architectures from local scripts to service-oriented models.
- Familiarity with Healthcare Standards: A good working knowledge of, or exposure to, HL7 and FHIR frameworks for data interoperability.
- Clear Communication: The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with external pharma data teams to align on technical specifications and DTAs.
- English is the working language of our multinational team with offices in California and Germany.
What we offer
With a small team, we validated our technology and established ourselves as a quality leader in the clinical trials market, serving most of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world.
Joining our team at this stage is a unique opportunity to put your mark on the growth of a company, and to positively impact the lives and health of millions of people. You will have ample room to broadly develop your skills.
We are offering a competitive salary and flexible working-from-home arrangements.
